Netflix was my first and best way to watch all the episodes of Weeds when I was just an undergrad at Berkeley.
The way a TV show works is that it is like an extended song. At the end of each episode the song shifts, leaving you just wanting to hear a little more. The artistry in how the story tellers capture that ending gives the season its ultimate feel.
Had Netflix never started carrying television shows, I may never have wanted to enjoy them. The medium of TV would have faded away from subsequent generations.
TV itself, as far as networks go, is failing. Netflix is breathing more life into the medium of TV, and what with digital media so inexpensive to produce these days, I'm sure we will have more shows to choose from than we can even consider.
